Global Agency has secured a second international deal for its music competition format The Greatest Duo, selling the German rights to BriskPace Unlimited, the unscripted and new-formats label of Munich-based BriskPace Studios. The agreement comes a week after Endemol acquired the format for Italy and follows its international launch at MIPCOM in Cannes. BriskPace Unlimited will produce the German adaptation as a primetime television series, with a 360-degree multiplatform strategy from the outset. Sebastian Wimmer, whose credits include international versions of Love Island, Dancing with the Stars and Idols, will be involved in the production.
Izzet Pinto, Founder and CEO of Global Agency, said: “Al Munteanu and BriskPace know exactly what German audiences want, and with Sebastian alongside them The Greatest Duo could not be in better hands. The most memorable duets are not always created by the two strongest solo singers; sometimes the magic comes from an unexpected connection. That is the heart of the show, and Germany, home to the biggest music competitions and relationship shows alike, is the perfect second international market for it. I look forward to seeing the German version soonest.”
Created as a primetime competition format, The Greatest Duo brings together singers who must prove their musical and personal compatibility. Across 12 episodes, contestants face individual scoring rounds, rising stages, emotional reunions and decisive partner choices as they compete to form the next legendary musical partnership.
For BriskPace Studios Founder and CEO Al Munteanu, the acquisition also marks the label's first move into unscripted programming. “We are thrilled to bring The Greatest Duo to German speaking territories. It asks a simple question, do two singers truly belong together, and lets the audience watch the answer unfold. I have spent thirty years learning what German audiences turn up for, and this is a show they will take to their hearts. Izzet and the Global Agency team have built something truly special and heartwarming, that is bound to be a massive hit. My heart is already melting,” he said.
Munteanu launched BriskPace Unlimited in 2025, following his career as founder of German distributor SquareOne Entertainment. The label recently introduced its first original scripted series, The Light and Hard Times of Lucky Briscoe, at MIA in Rome. Commenting on the multiplatform strategy for the German adaptation, Munteanu added: “This is exactly what Unlimited is for. We will make the big shiny floor show, and we take a 360-degree view and will invite audiences to experience the drama, the music and the beef on all platforms. We cannot wait to get started.”
