BBC Daytime and BBC Wales have commissioned Dashcam Justice, a 12-part factual series from Tomos TV, a label of Zinc Media Group, exploring how footage captured by everyday road users can help expose dangerous driving and support police investigations. Narrated by Welsh television and radio presenter Jason Mohammad, the series follows drivers across Britain using dashcams, headcams and mobile phones to record reckless road users, scams and organised crime. Six of the 12 episodes will focus on stories from Wales. As the use of on-board camera technology grows, Dashcam Justice examines how footage recorded by members of the public can contribute to road safety, police investigations and insurance claims. Through case studies, expert insight and practical advice, the series will also explore how drivers can use the technology effectively and protect themselves from scammers.

“The series lifts the lid on shocking driving, provides tips about how we can all be better drivers and highlights how reckless drivers are brought to justice,” added Lindsay Bradbury, commissioning editor for BBC Daytime.

The series was commissioned for BBC One, BBC One Wales and BBC iPlayer by Rob Unsworth, head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak commissioning, and Nick Andrews, head of commissioning for BBC Cymru Wales. Dashcam Justice will be available on BBC iPlayer, BBC One and BBC One Wales from November 9.
