Boat Rocker Studios has started production on two animated preschool series, Harlo and Puppy Pirates, with the former set to premiere on CBC in 2027 and the latter secured for a global launch on Netflix. Produced by Boat Rocker Studios and Industrial Brothers, Harlo (52x11') is a 2D animated series commissioned by CBC and previously announced under the title Hartford. Industrial Brothers is handling animation for the show, which follows Harlo, a cautious five-and-a-half-year-old bunny who navigates everyday adventures alongside his single dad and best friends, Tula and Maple.

Combining comedy, community and heart, the series aims to deliver relatable stories and life lessons for children, parents and caregivers. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is providing guidance on the show's themes of navigating anxiety. Animation industry veteran Mike Geiger (Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong) created and directs the series, with Alan Gregg (Remy & Boo) serving as story editor and creative producer. Boat Rocker oversees global content distribution, brand management and licensing.

Meanwhile, Puppy Pirates (40x11') is also in production in Toronto. Produced by Boat Rocker Studios and Industrial Brothers, the series was created by Industrial Brothers co-founder Matthew Fernandes (Dino Ranch, Daniel Spellbound). The series follows four heroic dogs sailing the high seas to recover treasured belongings. As the show's premise puts it: "Did someone take your treasure? Have you lost your loot? Then call the Puppy Pirates!" Puppy Pirates will stream globally on Netflix.

The new productions follow the previously announced greenlight of a second season of Dino Ranch: Island Explorers, produced with CBC, Radio-Canada and Warner Bros. Discovery.
