Off the Fence Sells Wild Battlegrounds to Mediaset, Viasat World and Discovery Latin America
Off the Fence Media (OTF) has secured international sales for its natural history series Wild Battlegrounds (8 x 60’), acquired by Mediaset in Italy, Viasat World and Discovery Latin America. Produced by Australia's Wildbear Entertainment, originally for RTL Germany, the series explores nature's ultimate battlegrounds, examining the survival strategies employed by predators and prey, from camouflage and communication to direct combat. Alongside the sales announcement, OTF has unveiled a new wildlife slate at Wildscreen in Bristol, strengthening its catalogue through partnerships with established and emerging production companies.

New acquisitions include Growing Up Cat (2 x 60’) from Wild Earth TV, following lion, leopard and cheetah cubs across Africa; Muskox: Survival in the Arctic (1 x 60’) from Stay Wild Studio, narrated by Daisy Head; and Mind of a Predator (7 x 60’) from Lion Mountain Media, exploring the intelligence and decision-making behind animal hunting behaviour. The distributor has also added CZAR Film's The Insect Effect (1 x 60’, working title), examining the crucial role insects play in Earth's ecosystems, alongside Nature's Odysseys (3 x 60’) and Wild Offspring: Animal Families (3 x 60’) from One Tribe TV.

Loren Baxter, Vice-President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at OTF, said:
“Our wildlife programmes continue to have strong, evergreen demand. As wildlife commissioning becomes increasingly challenging, we’re looking to build relationships with producers who can bring together exceptional archive material, or alternative investment models, to ensure we can continue supplying broadcasters with accessible, premium wildlife stories, whether that's archive driven or specially shot stories.”

Founded in 1994, Off the Fence Media was acquired by Insight TV in 2025 and is now part of the newly established World Storytelling Media Group (WSMG), operating across factual content production, distribution and channel networks.
