Banijay Brings Beat the Star to YouTube and Twitch
The new version, Beat Aaron (Schlag den Aaron), will premiere on 26 October and marks the first creator-led edition of Brainpool’s long-running entertainment format. The show is produced by Banijay Germany label Brainpool, with Banijay Media Germany overseeing marketing.

In the original Beat the Star format, contestants compete against a celebrity across a series of physical, mental and entertainment challenges for a cash prize. The new digital edition reworks that formula around some of Germany’s best-known online personalities.
YouTube creator Aaron Troschke will team up with fellow YouTuber Marvin Wildhage to face Twitch personalities Zarbex and Max Schradin. The event will be streamed live simultaneously across Troschke and Wildhage’s YouTube channels and the Twitch channels of Zarbex and Schradin, allowing each creator’s community to follow the competition on its preferred platform.

For Banijay Media Germany, the project is designed to combine the scale and production values of a traditional studio entertainment show with the immediacy and interaction associated with creator-led content.

Aaron Troschke, presenter, and content creator says:
"When I appeared in the anniversary episode of Beat the Star in February, I knew I wanted to do it again. In Beat Aaron, I have Marvin by my side, and in Zarbex and Max, two opponents who definitely won’t go easy on us. The real studio setting, distinct personalities, and our communities watching live – that’s the winning mix. Now Marvin and I just have to make sure the title doesn’t become a self-fulfilling prophecy...”

Christian Nienaber, Managing Director of Banijay Media Germany adds:
"Beat Aaron brings together elements that, in our view, are a perfect match: one of Germany’s strongest entertainment brands with a significant following, creators with massive reach, powerful brands, and new distribution channels. We are combining the production values and emotional appeal of a major studio show, with the intimacy and interactivity of the creator world, creating entirely new opportunities for brands to become part of the content."

Other recent Twitch-led projects across the group include a Fort Boyard collaboration with French streamer Domingo, several seasons of German Big Brother spin-off Big Brother – Knossi Edition, and The Bov Boys’ 24-hour Big Brother UK livestream.
