Now in its 42nd season, Forum is one of the longest-running courtrooms shows on Italian television and a cornerstone of Mediaset’s daytime programming. More than 11,000 episodes have been produced since its launch, establishing the format as a highly recognisable television brand built around real-life disputes, social issues and everyday conflicts brought before a judge.
The new season introduces a significant technological twist with Jeeves, a humanoid robot acting as an on-set assistant. Operated with the support of Italian engineers and powered by artificial intelligence, Jeeves becomes part of the programme’s broader conversation around the increasingly prominent role of AI in contemporary society.
Rather than simply serving as a technological novelty, the robot is used as a starting point to explore the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, raising questions around trust, usefulness, responsibility and the impact of new technologies on everyday life.
The new edition of Forum returned to Canale 5 on 7 September at 11.00, followed by its companion programme Lo Sportello di Forum at 14.00 on Retequattro. Journalist Barbara Palombelli returns as host for her 14th consecutive year, guiding viewers through the cases and discussions at the heart of the programme while providing space for debate around current social and cultural issues.
Alongside its traditional courtroom structure, the latest season also expands the discussion around particularly complex cases through dedicated intergenerational debates, offering different perspectives on topics with strong social relevance.
