Orange Smarty has secured a string of international sales for The Beckham Feud – Truth & Lies, the 60-minute documentary produced by ITN Productions for Channel 5, as interest in the Beckham family story continues to travel across international markets. The documentary, which examines the highly publicised tensions between Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham and Brooklyn’s parents, David and Victoria Beckham, has been picked up by broadcasters across Europe, Asia and Australia.
The current sales roster includes Virgin Media Television in Ireland, TVNZ in New Zealand, Warner Bros. Discovery in the Netherlands, DPG Media in Belgium, TV 2 in Norway and Denmark, TV4 in Sweden, MTV Oy in Finland, Stan in Australia and Now TV in Hong Kong, as well as airline sales.
The Beckham Feud – Truth & Lies looks beyond the headlines surrounding the family dispute to examine the relationship between celebrity, family loyalty and the demands of maintaining a global public image. Through contributions from journalists, branding specialists and psychologists, the documentary explores the evolution of “Brand Beckham” and the tension that can emerge when a carefully managed celebrity identity meets private family relationships.
The strong response to the documentary has also prompted Orange Smarty to expand its relationship with Channel 5 and ITN Productions. The distributor has acquired worldwide rights to The Beckhams' Billions: How Did They Get So Rich?, another 60-minute documentary examining how David and Victoria Beckham developed their careers and transformed their celebrity status into a business empire reportedly worth more than £1bn. Using archive material and expert analysis, the programme traces the couple’s evolution from football and pop-culture figures into entrepreneurs, offering a different perspective on one of the world’s most recognisable celebrity brands.
Karen Young, CEO of Orange Smarty, said: “Few families have captured the world's attention quite like the Beckhams. Their story goes far beyond celebrity — it brings together fame, family, business, ambition and the pressure of living every aspect of your life in the public eye. These themes resonate with audiences everywhere, which is reflected in the international market’s exceptional response to The Beckham Feud. We’re now building on that momentum with The Beckhams' Billions, which offers another fascinating perspective on one of the world's most recognisable brands.”
