Format

Netflix launches  on  September 11, Physical Italia: da 100 a 1*(Physical 100: Italy), the new reality competition produced by Endemol Shine Italy and filmed in Turin at the Lingotto. The series marks the first Italian adaptation of the successful Korean format Physical: 100. 

The Italian production was mounted on an impressive scale. For 64 consecutive days, three halls at Lingotto Fiere were transformed into a massive television set covering more than 64,000 square metres. Around 300 people were involved in the production each day, with ten competition sets created and more than 80 cameras used on the main set.

The format brings together 100 contestants from different backgrounds — including Olympic champions, professional athletes, creators and entertainment personalities — who face a series of demanding physical challenges designed to test strength, endurance, agility and mental resilience. Only one competitor will ultimately remain. Among the best-known names taking part are swimming legend Federica Pellegrini, Olympic gymnastics champion Jury Chechi, Olympic diving medallist Tania Cagnotto, former Italian rugby international Mirco Bergamasco, Elisabetta Canalis, former rugby player and TV personality Alvise Rigo, and content creator Luis Sal. 

The casting process involved more than 1,000 potential contestants, with 187 Zoom auditions and 137 final in-person selections. Participants range in age from 22 to 60 and represent disciplines including triathlon, wrestling, American football, skeleton, Hyrox and the traditional Calcio Storico Fiorentino.

Netflix is releasing the competition across four Fridays: the first three episodes debut today, followed by episodes 4 and 5 on September 18, episodes 6 and 7 on September 25, with the finale arriving on October 2.
