Filming Italy Venice Award Celebrates Women and International Talent
During the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, the eighth edition of the Filming Italy Venice Award was also held at the Hotel Excelsior, celebrating leading figures from Italian and international cinema and television. The event is directed by Tiziana Rocca and recognises films, TV series, talent and industry professionals from the latest season.Among the international guests, Irina Shayk, Orlando Bloom, Malcolm McRae and Akinola Davies Jr. received the Filming Italy Venice International Award, while Lino Banfi was honoured with the Achievement Award.

The Italian winners included Alba Rohrwacher for Tre ciotole, Aurora Quattrocchi for Gioia mia, Leo Gassmann for Fuori la verità, Matilde Gioli for Strike – Figli di un’era sbagliata and Monica Guerritore for Anna. Greta Scarano was recognised for her directorial debut La vita da grandi, while Mario Martone received the Best Director award for Fuori.

Television was also represented among the winners, with Alessio Vassallo awarded for L’altro ispettore, Eduardo Scarpetta for Storia della mia famiglia and its second season, and Alanah Bloor receiving the International Award for Best Character in a TV Series for Sandokan. Claudia Tranchese was also recognised for her performance in the TV series La Preside.

Other recipients included Francesca Archibugi, Francesca Comencini, Giorgio Pasotti, Beatrice Arnera, Herbert Ballerina, Pilar Fogliati, Carolina Crescentini, Ilenia Pastorelli and Irene Maiorino.

The award once again highlighted the contribution of women working both in front of and behind the camera and reaffirmed its support for the fight against violence against women.
