RiksTV and Norigin Media Introduce CTV Deep-Linking Across Streaming Services in Norway
Norwegian TV distributor RiksTV has introduced a new connected-TV deep-linking feature across selected Smart TV platforms, allowing users to discover content from different streaming services through a single interface. Developed together with Norigin Media, the feature is available through both the RiksTV app and its OTT streaming service Strim, creating a more integrated content-discovery experience for subscribers. Users can already access a combination of linear television channels and on-demand programming through the two services. With the new integration, content offered by third-party platforms and broadcasters including TV 2 Norway, Viaplay and HBO Max can also be surfaced within the RiksTV and Strim interfaces.

When viewers select content belonging to one of the integrated streaming services, deep-linking directs them to the relevant programme or title in the corresponding OTT app, reducing the need to navigate and search across several separate platforms. The development reflects the growing role of TV aggregators in simplifying an increasingly fragmented streaming market, where audiences frequently subscribe to multiple services and need easier ways to find content across different platforms.

Norigin Media, which specialises in Connected TV applications, has developed the UI and UX integration across a growing number of Smart TV models. The company designs and certifies multiscreen applications for mobile and Smart TV platforms using a shared technology codebase.

Jérôme Franck-Sætervoll, CEO of RiksTV and Strim, said: “This is a real milestone for our viewers, achieved together with Norigin Media and Titan OS. RiksTV and Strim have won numerous customer satisfaction awards over the years, and that's a responsibility we take seriously and work continuously to live up to. Making sure our customers can access their favorite channels and streaming content wherever suits them best is core to what we do. As we keep aggregating more services, our goal stays the same: make it effortless for people to find the content they love.”

Ajey Anand, CEO of Norigin Media, commented: “RiksTV is one of the most distinctive digital terrestrial and streaming providers in Norway, offering the best of traditional and modern solutions to their subscribers. It has been a pleasure to partner with them and manage their Smart TV app development for many years now.”He added: “We hope we can further this unique experience for consumers on other Smart TV operating systems in the future.”

Norigin Media will showcase its TV app solutions at IBC in Amsterdam, September 11-14.
