Global pop star Zara Larsson has entered the magical world of Winx Club in a new music video for her Grammy-nominated hit Midnight Sun, bringing together music, fashion, live action and animation in a new crossover production. Produced by Rainbow, the Italian entertainment company behind the globally successful franchise, the video sees Larsson starring alongside the iconic Winx fairies in a production that seamlessly combines live action with the franchise’s distinctive animation style.
An exclusive excerpt from the music video will also be featured in new episodes of Winx Club: The Magic is Back, which are set to premiere later this year.
The collaboration brings together two major entertainment properties, combining Larsson’s distinctive style and musical identity with the colourful visual world of Winx Club. The project is designed to offer longtime fans a new way to experience the franchise while introducing the Winx universe to Larsson’s global music audience. With its focus on confidence, friendship, vibrant style and self-expression, the Winx Club universe represents a natural fit for Larsson’s creative identity and empowering approach.
“Welcoming Zara Larsson into the Winx Club universe is a celebration of two worlds united by creativity, freedom of expression and authenticity,” said Iginio Straffi, Founder and CEO of Rainbow. “Seeing Midnight Sun come to life through the magic of Winx Club is a source of great pride and perfectly reflects the direction we want to continue pursuing: creating experiences that inspire and bring together music, storytelling and imagination. Winx is much more than a story about fairies, it is an ever-evolving phenomenon that continues to grow alongside its fans, embracing new voices, new talents and new forms of artistic expression.”
The collaboration comes as the latest chapter of the franchise continues its international rollout. Six new episodes of Winx Club: The Magic Is Back are now streaming globally on Netflix, while the series is also available through major broadcasters including BBC in the UK and Rai in Italy. TF1 in France and Canal Panda in Portugal will launch the series from September, ahead of further international launches planned throughout Q3.
