Titus Welliver to Receive Maximo Excellence Award at Italian Global Series 2026
Acclaimed American actor Titus Welliver will receive the Maximo Excellence Award at the second edition of Italian Global Series, the festival dedicated to international and Italian series content, taking place from 3 to 11 July 2026 in Rimini and Riccione.

Best known worldwide for his role as Detective Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch in Amazon Studios’ hit series Bosch and Bosch: Legacy, Welliver will be honoured during the festival’s Opening Ceremony on Friday 3 July at the Teatro Galli in Rimini.

The award celebrates one of the most versatile figures in contemporary television and cinema. Over the course of his career, Welliver has built a distinctive profile across television, film, theatre and the visual arts, becoming internationally recognised for his intense screen presence and his ability to move between genres and characters with remarkable ease.

His portrayal of Harry Bosch, based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels, has become one of the defining performances of modern crime drama. Through Bosch and its continuation Bosch: Legacy, Welliver helped shape a character-driven procedural that has attracted a loyal international audience and contributed to the global popularity of premium crime series.

Beyond Bosch, Welliver’s television career includes memorable roles in some of the most influential series of the past two decades. He appeared as the enigmatic Man in Black in Lost, played Silas Adams in HBO’s Deadwood, and took on key roles in Sons of Anarchy and The Good Wife. These performances confirmed his reputation as a highly adaptable actor, capable of bringing depth and ambiguity to complex supporting and leading characters.

His film career has been equally significant. Welliver has worked several times with Ben Affleck, appearing in award-winning titles including Argo, Gone Baby Gone and The Town. His big-screen credits also include international productions such as Transformers: Age of Extinction and Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land.

Welliver’s artistic background also plays an important role in his creative identity. The son of landscape artist Neil Welliver and illustrator Norma Cripps, he has maintained a strong connection with the visual arts alongside his acting career. His works have been exhibited in American galleries, and his prints are part of the collection displayed at the Mezzanine Gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The actor also continues to expand his screen work with a number of upcoming projects, including the film Hotel Tehran, the MGM+ series The Westies, the animated adaptation Get Jiro, co-written by Anthony Bourdain, and a role in the final season of the international series The Night Agent.
