Fremantle Secures France TV Presale for Premium Wildlife Series An Hour on Earth
Fremantle has secured a presale agreement with France TV for An Hour on Earth, a premium four-part natural history series produced by Offspring Films for BBC and PBS and distributed by Fremantle.
The 4x60’ series, scheduled to premiere internationally in 2027, explores the brief but crucial periods during the day when wildlife activity reaches its peak. Using seamless filming techniques and immersive cinematography, each episode focuses on “magic hours” across different ecosystems, capturing animals as they respond to narrow windows of opportunity created by changing environmental conditions.

The France TV presale follows the previously announced partnership with BBC and PBS and highlights growing international demand for premium factual programming. The agreement also strengthens Fremantle’s collaboration with leading public-service broadcasters.

“Combining premium natural history storytelling with a distinctive time-led concept, this series has strong appeal for international broadcasters - and this presale is a great example of that demand. We’re very pleased to have secured this deal with France TV, which is a fantastic home for it. We’re looking forward to building on this momentum and bringing the series to further partners across our territories,” said Al De Azpiazu, SVP Distribution at Fremantle (French & German Speaking Europe, Italy, Spain & Portugal).
“We’re delighted to partner with France TV on this truly distinctive natural history series that brings a fresh and cinematic perspective to the natural world. Its innovative storytelling and cutting-edge filming techniques create something genuinely original for audiences, and we’re proud to be working with Offspring Films, BBC and PBS on this ambitious project,” added Céire Clark, VP Non-Scripted Acquisitions at Fremantle.
“France TV commissions this ambitious project with a talented and innovative production team. This series is a distinctive proposition in the field of natural history. It promises a bold aesthetic journey but also an ecologic consciousness awakening. France TV is proud to partner with Fremantle on such a high level production. Cinematic seamless shoots will offer our audience an immersive experience with mother nature,” said Caroline Behar, Head of France TV International Coproductions and Acquisitions.
