Monte-Carlo TV Festival Wraps 65th Edition With Record Industry Turnout and First Digital Awards
The Monte-Carlo Television Festival concluded its landmark 65th edition with a closing ceremony that celebrated television excellence, emerging talent and the growing role of digital storytelling in the global content business. Held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, the event brought together leading executives, producers, creators, actors and media representatives from across the international audiovisual sector. A key milestone for the Festival was the introduction of the first Golden Nymph Awards dedicated to digital content, reflecting the increasing influence of online creators and digital-first storytelling within the global entertainment landscape.
Among the evening’s highlights, Kurt Russell received the Crystal Nymph, recognizing a career spanning more than six decades across film and television. British actor Matthew Broome was awarded the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent following his breakout performances in My Fault: London and The Buccaneers.

The 2026 Official Selection featured 24 programs across Fiction, Feature Reports & News, and Digital categories, showcasing premium scripted productions, investigative documentaries and innovative digital formats from around the world. Throughout the week, the Festival hosted 13 screenings, including four world premieres, five international premieres and four French premieres, alongside more than 29 public events, conferences, autograph sessions and talent-focused discussions. The Festival also attracted a high-profile roster of international talent, including Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, Ester Expósito, Lesley Manville, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan, John Hannah and David Boreanaz.

On the industry side, the Business Forum reinforced its role as a key platform for international dialogue, bringing together creators, executives and producers to discuss storytelling, audience engagement, technology and the future of premium television. Speakers included Michael Hirst, Aldis Hodge, Ben Watkins, Rola Bauer, Kevin McKidd and Susanne Daniels. The Forum also hosted the second edition of the Tell Me A Story! Pitch Contest, developed with 1895 Films. Mariana Machado of Universidade Lusófona in Portugal was named winner for her project Late to Desire: The Sex Lives They Never Had.
