CONECTA Magaluf-Mallorca Reinforces Boutique Networking Model With 400 Industry Professionals From 30 Countries
CONECTA Magaluf-Mallorca closed its 10th edition on Thursday with 400 accredited professionals from 30 countries, consolidating its position as one of Europe’s leading boutique gatherings for the international audiovisual industry. Held from May 25-28 in Magaluf (Calvià, Mallorca), the event brought together executives, producers, platforms, broadcasters, creatives and content development executives from Europe and the Americas for four intensive days focused on networking, strategic partnerships and project development.
The largest international delegations, alongside Spain, came from France, the United States, Portugal, Germany, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Italy and Argentina. Companies attending included HBO Max, Prime Video, YouTube, France TV, RAI, RTVE, SkyShowtime, TVI, Atresmedia, Telemundo Studios, Mediaset Italia, Movistar Plus+, 3Cat and IB3.

This year’s program featured more than 40 activities and over 100 speakers through panel discussions, workshops and networking sessions. Among the key topics addressed were artificial intelligence and copyright, the rise of microdramas and vertical content, new financing models, European tax incentives and the generational transition taking place across the audiovisual industry.

One of the centerpiece events was Conecta SUMMIT, an invitation-only gathering that brought together 20 senior executives and decision-makers to discuss the major strategic challenges facing the international content business and explore opportunities for collaboration. Pitch sessions once again played a central role at the market. Focused this year on Drama Series, Comedy Series, Direct-to-Streaming Movies and Vertical Series, the sessions showcased 26 finalist projects to international commissioners, investors and producers. A total of 11 awards were presented at the close of the event, supported by RTVE Play, Spain Film Commission, Triodos Bank, Warner Music, Acorde, New Art and partner events including SANFIC (Chile), Bogotá Audiovisual Market – BAM (Colombia) and TV Beats Forum (Estonia).
The Conecta VIBES section further strengthened the event’s connection with the Balearic Islands by promoting the region as an international production destination. Around 80 participants and international media representatives took part in location tours across Calvià and Mallorca, visiting sites including Playa del Mago, Portals Vells, Puig de Sa Morisca and Port de Sóller. During the tours, organizers also presented the “Calvià, Film Set” initiative.
Conecta FICTION FEST added a public-facing cultural component to the event with two screenings at the Casal de Peguera auditorium. The lineup included the première of Mallorca Confidencial, presented with a red carpet attended by members of the cast, as well as a special screening of the original Movistar Plus+ series Many people need to die.

Géraldine Gonard, director of CONECTA Magaluf-Mallorca, said during the closing session: “CONECTA was founded with the aim of being a space where the industry could take stock, discuss its future and generate the projects we would see in the months and years to come. This year it has become clear that Mallorca and Magaluf are the perfect setting for this.” She added: “Our new, more compact and all-in-one format is focused on facilitating connections and maximising the value of time spent together, which we believe is far more efficient for everyone.”
