Banijay Live Studio launches The Black Mirror Experience in New York
Banijay Live Studio, part of Banijay Live, a division of Banijay Entertainment, is bringing The Black Mirror Experience to New York City in partnership with local producer LETSGO and ticketing partner Leap Event Technology. Produced alongside VR studio Univrse, the immersive attraction will open at The Shed on June 20, 2026, for a limited engagement running through September 6. A 24-hour pre-sale for Shed Members is now underway, while tickets for the general public go on sale on May 28 via theblackmirrorexperience.com.

Inspired by Charlie Brooker’s award-winning anthology series Black Mirror, the 60-minute hybrid experience combines physical environments with free-roaming virtual reality, placing groups of up to six participants at the center of an original standalone story set within the Black Mirror universe. The experience invites visitors to attend the launch of Phaethon’s showroom, where the fictional tech company unveils LifeAgent, a robot designed to simplify everyday life and anticipate users’ desires. What begins as a seamless and reassuring demonstration gradually shifts into a darker narrative examining the role of technology and artificial intelligence in modern life.

“Until now, location-based VR meant visiting somewhere – a cultural site, a moment in history,” said François de Brugada, CEO, Banijay Live. “With The Black Mirror Experience, you're no longer visiting a world. You're the protagonist in the story.”
“What excited us was the tension between the familiar and the uncanny; the feeling that the world you're stepping into could be just one decision away,” said David Bardos, Co-Founder, UNIVRSE. “That's what Black Mirror has always done, and we built the experience to live inside that feeling.”
“Since its inception, Black Mirror has explored the intersection between humanity and technology, shaping how we see ourselves and one another in our modern age,” said Alex Poots, The Shed's Artistic Director. “At The Shed, the US premiere will bring audiences closer to the drama in innovative and intimate ways.”

Black Mirror, a Banijay Entertainment format available on Netflix, has collected 29 major awards, including nine Emmy Awards and four BAFTAs, across seven seasons. The series returned for its seventh season on Netflix in April 2025, produced by Broke & Bones, with Brooker, Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones serving as executive producers. The brand is represented by Banijay Rights.  The Black Mirror Experience will hold its world premiere at Infinity Experience in Montreal on May 21, followed by its European premiere at Espacio Delicias in Madrid on June 4, before expanding to additional locations. Ahead of its official debut, the production received a Special Mention in the Immersive Competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
