Spirit Studios Launches AI-Powered Digital Channel 10 Minute History
Spirit Studios has unveiled 10 Minute History, a new digital channel designed to reshape how audiences consume historical content through short-form, cinematic storytelling tailored to modern viewing habits. The channel delivers tightly structured ten-minute episodes, combining narrative-driven storytelling with accessible, engaging formats aimed at today’s digital audiences. Each episode is divided into minute-by-minute chapters with built-in cliffhangers, while also enabling distribution as standalone one-minute clips across YouTube and social platforms.

The launch forms part of Spirit Studios’ broader strategy to expand both its owned-and-operated channels and third-party networks within its MCN, as the television industry continues to shift toward a more YouTube-centric ecosystem.
At its core, 10 Minute History is built on the premise that while history offers compelling stories, traditional formats do not align with contemporary viewing behaviours. The channel aims to position itself as a destination for concise, shareable historical content, offering engaging “pub facts” designed for quick consumption and retention.
This marks the company’s first AI-supported channel initiative, combining new technologies with a human-led creative approach.

“This isn’t about replacing human creativity,” said Matt Campion, Creative Director at Spirit Studios. “It’s about enhancing it. Every story is shaped, guided, and crafted by people… AI supports the workflow, helping us scale and streamline production, but the storytelling itself remains deeply human.”
The production model integrates traditional editorial roles—including producer, editor, voiceover artist, and channel manager—with AI tools that assist in scripting, visual generation, and music creation. This hybrid workflow aims to increase efficiency while maintaining editorial oversight and creative integrity.

Launched as a minimum viable product (MVP), 10 Minute History serves as a testing ground for a broader content strategy. Future plans include expanding into longer formats such as 30- and 60-minute specials, as well as extending the brand into additional verticals, including politics and news, under the 10 Minute umbrella.
Positioned within the context of an increasingly competitive attention economy, the channel aims to offer a blend of entertainment and education, targeting digitally native audiences seeking concise, high-quality factual content.
