TAICCA Expands Asian Series Strategy With Series Mania Renewal and Serial Bridges Asia Growth
TAICCA has renewed its strategic alliance with Series Mania while significantly expanding its flagship initiative, Serial Bridges Asia, reinforcing its role as a key connector between Asian and European television industries.

At the peak of the Series Mania Forum, Europe’s largest television series market, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency hosted the Asia Co-Pro Pitch by TAICCA on March 25, where the inaugural Serial Bridges Asia Award was presented. The agency also announced the expansion of Serial Bridges Asia into a broader cross-regional development platform through a new partnership with Thailand’s Creative Economy Agency.

On the same day, TAICCA formalized the renewal of its memorandum of understanding with Series Mania, represented by Francesco Capurro. TAICCA CEO Erica Wang also took part in an official industry panel, underscoring the agency’s ongoing commitment to strengthening ties between Taiwan and Europe through co-production and co-financing opportunities.

The Asia Co-Pro Pitch gathered key international figures, including Capurro, Taiwan Representative to France Hao Pei-chih, and Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris Director Chen Hung-hsing.

Serial Bridges Asia, now in its third year and co-organized with the Series Mania Institute, has already supported 12 series projects. This year’s expansion marks a turning point, with the inclusion of Thailand’s CEA transforming the initiative into a platform spanning Europe and Asia. Selected teams will participate in a year-long development program across Bangkok, Taipei, and Lille, combining training and market access.

The 2026 edition featured a European jury representing key industry sectors, including Manya Lutz-Moneim, Guillaume Pommier, and Anna Nobi, who selected the most promising project.

The inaugural Serial Bridges Asia Award went to The Fundamentals, which stood out among the competing projects. The jury unanimously praised the high quality and global potential of the Taiwanese entries. “The Asia Co-Pro Pitch jury was particularly impressed by the quality of the four pitched projects, the culmination of in-depth work on both their themes and oral presentations. THE FUNDAMENTALS stood out for its distinct Taiwanese local focus paired with universal appeal—a crime story that is both intriguing and accessible, with the clear potential to captivate audiences worldwide.”

In addition to industry exposure, the winning team becomes eligible to apply for TAICCA’s Creative Content Development Program (CCDP), with potential funding of up to USD 60,000.

During the networking event following the pitch, TAICCA and Series Mania celebrated the renewal of their partnership. Wang highlighted the results of this collaboration: “Taiwan and Series Mania have built a deep partnership over the past five years. We're already seeing real results: French companies connecting with Taiwanese partners, and more co-productions between Taiwan and Europe coming to life. None of that happens without Series Mania and the bridge we've built together.” said TAICCA CEO Erica Wang.

Francesco Capurro added: “Taiwan was the first Asian partner of Series Mania Forum, opening the way for all other Asian countries that now are attending the event. And so this is very important for us.”

Wang also participated in the panel “Serial Bridges: Igniting New Co-Production Dynamics,” where she addressed key industry challenges: “For Taiwan’s industry to produce outstanding content and expand globally, what it primarily lacks is funding and international distribution channels. TAICCA will continue to play an active role in connecting industry partners.”

She further emphasized the importance of the newly established Serial Bridges Asia Award and the expanded 2026 edition as part of Taiwan’s long-term strategy to build a regional collaboration platform.
