In each episode, five contestants are given thousands of pounds before answering a single question. They stand before a Money Timer, an hourglass-shaped podium filled with money. At the start of each round, the timer is topped up and then drains dramatically with each passing second.
To stop the money from falling, the contestants must race to stop the timer, but if the money runs out, they’re out of the game. Only one person can make it to the final and have the chance to take home the money they’ve managed to save. In summary, we cannot define it as a particularly original game, but it is straightforward, easy to play from home and effective.
The first episode went quite well, with the linear broadcast having 1.44 million viewers, peaking at 1.58 million for our tense endgame, which was in the top 15 of all shows that night.
A great way to kick off a fantastic year of television!
