Double Vision Enters New Strategic Alliance with Risingjoy
Malaysian production company Double Vision has formed a new strategic alliance with RisingJoy, the swiftly expanding microdrama and digital entertainment venture co-founded by Cassandra Yang and Ricky Ow. This collaboration enables Double Vision to venture into the rapidly advancing microdrama sector alongside a partner with deep expertise and a distinctive market position.

RisingJoy is a trailblazer in microdrama distribution and currently handles more than 500 hours of top-performing, high-quality microdramas in Chinese, Korean, Japanese and English, working with partners in over 20 countries across Asia, Europe, MENA and South America. RisingJoy will also introduce RJoy, a co-branded app featuring a tightly curated experience, which will accelerate its next phase of growth in the microdrama field.

As part of its commitment to the partnership, Double Vision will invest in RisingJoy and take up a minority shareholding.
RisingJoy’s approach centres on collaborating with prominent local players to co-brand microdrama platforms, combining its expertise and proven track record in content curation with the reach and infrastructure of local companies. This strategy of aligning with high-calibre partners has driven its fast expansion since its establishment in 2021, steadily advancing its mission of moving from micro to macro. The partnership with Double Vision will further amplify that momentum.

With decades of experience creating some of Malaysia’s and pan-Asia’s most notable drama series — including acclaimed local adaptations of “The Bridge and Liar” — Double Vision will expand into producing microdrama formats, becoming RisingJoy’s first official co-creation partner. Beyond content development, as the market grows globally, Double Vision’s long-standing sister production services division will support everything from music clearances and format bibles to localisation and local productions in key territories, ensuring RisingJoy’s microdramas reach expanding audiences worldwide with ease.

Min Lim, CEO of Double Vision, says: “I have long admired the work that Cassandra and Ricky have been doing in the microdrama space, building this new stream of the industry with quality content and successfully taking it out into the world. It is therefore truly exciting to invest in and partner with RisingJoy at such a pivotal time. We appreciate that we will undoubtedly learn a great deal about creating microdrama from Cassandra and Ricky in this partnership but Double Vision’s wide-ranging creative and production skills, not to mention the huge raft of production services we can offer as support, will help supercharge this business and push it further on its impressive growth trajectory. With this new investment, plus a raft of major international projects set to start in 2026, the next year will be an exciting one for Double Vision.”

Cassandra Yang, Founder and CEO of RisingJoy, added: “Double Vision and its parent company may now be 40 years old, but it has always kept as the forefront of industry developments and believed in the power of partnership. We have known Min and the team for a long time and are delighted that we will now be working together more closely. Microdrama, once seen as a Chinese curio, is now on the cusp of becoming a truly global phenomenon and this new strategic partnership leaves us well placed to capitalise. Double Vision’s financial investment, its experience in drama production and of doing business in the international arena, will play an important part in helping RisingJoy to the next level and meeting our global ambitions.”
