Banijay Iberia Features Practical Guide to Boost Sustainability in Productions
Banijay Iberia together with Mrs. Greenfilm presented at Iberseries & Platino Industria 2025 the creation of the ‘Practical Eco Management Guide’. The two companies are making this resource available to the industry to promote sustainability across all types of productions. The guide offers practical insights on how to address sustainability in accordance with today’s legislative, social, and environmental frameworks.

“Our commitment to building a more sustainable audiovisual industry is a fact. Productions such as 'Operación Triunfo' or the trilogy that began with 'Culpa Mía' are already pioneers in this field, and that is the path we aspire to in all our projects. To make this possible, we commissioned Mrs. Greenfilm to develop a practical guide that would help our teams move forward in integrating sustainable practices into productions, and this is the exercise we share today with the industry. We want good practices to spread as widely as possible,” said Pilar Blasco, CEO of Banijay Iberia.

“With the ‘Practical Eco Management Guide’, we are taking another step forward in our alliance with Banijay Iberia: we are offering the industry an operational framework to integrate sustainability into any production. It builds on real experience from the 200 productions supported by Mrs. Greenfilm and responds to the demands of public administrations, broadcasters, and platforms alike: planning, traceable data, and comparable results,” stated the founders of Mrs. Greenfilm.

Developed by Mrs. Greenfilm, the ‘Practical Eco Management Guide’ is designed to become a key reference for the audiovisual sector, supporting producers, technical crews, and professionals who want to incorporate sustainability into their projects. The document outlines environmental impacts and provides recommendations, organizes workflows into phases (development and pre-production, shooting, wrap, and post-production), and clarifies the roles and responsibilities of the sustainability team. It also includes a section on “sustainability on screen” with editorial principles to integrate sustainable habits and contexts into narratives.

Finally, the guide provides an overview of the current institutional and industry landscape, a summary of standards and certifications (including albert, EMA Green Seal, GreenFilm, SESA, and Mrs. Greenfilm’s own certification), and a clear explanation of the certification process. Far from being a theoretical manual, it compiles real practices tested on sets and organizes them for seamless integration into everyday production operations.
