Bomanbridge Media has secured a multi-year partnership with German's Doclights to take over their acclaimed wildlife catalogue alongside new and upcoming productions.
The agreement, cash valued at over USD $1 million, will see Bomanbridge take over the distribution of DocLights’ premium wildlife and factual content which totals close to 200 hours. The partnership will also see the companies collaborating on a wide-range of shared strategic digital goals and future productions.
This deal significantly expands Bomanbridge’s content library, now exceeding 5,700 hours across factual, lifestyle, kids and drama.
Launching at this year’s MIPCOM, Bomanbridge will unveil a selection from the 40 new blue-chip titles coming down the line for release across 2025/26, in addition to a dynamic slate spanning slow TV, digital-first content, hosted wildlife series and cinematic primetime documentaries.
"It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to collaborate with Doclights. Their reputation as one of the world’s leading producers of natural history storytelling, with more than 500 international awards and their deep archive of rare animal behaviour, is unmatched. This partnership not only strengthens our natural history offering but also opens new opportunities for co-productions, digital content innovation, and global audience engagement,” said Bomanbridge Founder & CEO, Sonia Fleck. “Adding this collection to our slate cements our commitment to showcasing the wonders of the natural world.”
Jörn Röver, CEO of DocLights added: “I have worked with Carl for over 20 years and I am delighted to entrust our natural history library to Carl, Sonia and the team at Bomanbridge - a distributor we know shares our passion for these stories. Their determination, unique global reach, and stellar reputation give us confidence that our programming will find new audiences and continue to inspire wonder around the world. We see this as the beginning of a strong and collaborative partnership.”
Today’s announcement follows the recent news that Bomanbridge has acquired Carl Hall’s UK distribution business, West One International, with Hall named as Chief Creative Officer, Bomanbridge West.
