After the
resounding international success of “Kuma” (The Other Wife), GoQuest Media is
moving forward with its next high-end Turkish series: “Arafta”. The production
is developed in partnership with Rains Pictures, the company behind “Rüzgarlı
Tepe” (Winds of Love) and “Kan Çiçekleri” (Vendetta).
Arafta
unfolds as a sweeping generational love-and-revenge saga, featuring İlsu
Demirci and Emin Günenç in the lead roles. The story interweaves passion,
vengeance, and family conflict, delivering a powerful narrative designed to
captivate global audiences.
The very
title Arafta derives from the Turkish word Araf, symbolizing a dramatic
threshold where characters must decide between passion and retribution,
fidelity and betrayal, fate and desire. The plot follows Mercan, a young woman
torn between survival and destiny, and Ateş, a man of raw intensity whose
journey with her sparks a storm of betrayal, redemption, and desire.
Vivek Lath,
Managing Director of GoQuest Media, said: “Following the worldwide impact of ‘Kuma’,
’Kan Çiçekleri’, and ‘Rüzgarlı Tepe’ — dramas that resonated strongly with
viewers across markets — we are delighted to collaborate with Sevda Kaygısız
and the team at Rains Pictures. ‘Arafta’ unites two of the strongest creative
forces in the Turkish drama scene, with the ambition to craft a story that not
only captivates but also leaves a lasting impression. Building on Kuma’s
successful make-to-sell model, we are eager to replicate this innovative
approach with ‘Arafta’.”
For Sevda
Kaygısız of Rains Pictures, the project is equally meaningful: “Partnering with
GoQuest Media is a great opportunity. At Rains Pictures, we have been fortunate
to produce titles like ‘Kan Çiçekleri’ and ‘Rüzgarlı Tepe’, which struck a deep
chord with audiences at home and abroad. With ‘Arafta’, and with GoQuest’s
global reach, we want to take that success even further. This is a story where
love, revenge, and destiny collide, one that will move viewers not only in
Turkey but around the world. I’m confident its intense storytelling and strong performances
will once again highlight the powerful impact of Turkish dramas worldwide.”
With
GoQuest Media’s continued momentum in global distribution and digital growth,
Arafta is set to make its international debut soon.
