Building on the success of Season 1, which premiered on France 5 in 2023, France Télévisions has commissioned a second season of Billy the Cowboy Hamster (48 × 11’ and 2 × 22’ specials). Co-produced by Bardaf! Productions and RTBF, most of the animation will be created at Dandelooo’s in-house studio Ooolala in Valence, France, for delivery in Autumn 2026.

The 2D series, based on the bestselling books by Catharina Valckx (over one million copies sold worldwide), follows Billy, a young hamster with big cowboy dreams, and his friends Jean-Claude and Suzie. In the new season, the trio faces the arrival of the railroad, photography, and cinema in their Wild West town, blending classic adventure with the excitement of modern changes.

Season 1 has sold to broadcasters in more than 20 territories, including RAI (Italy), Super RTL (Germany), SVT (Sweden), NRK (Norway), and TVP-ABC (Poland).
