International media executive Vivian (Xiaowei) Yin, twice recognized by The Hollywood Reporter as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Global Media,” has announced the launch of Y+X Entertainment Group, a new creative company with the ambition to reshape how stories are told and experienced across cultures, platforms, and formats.

With a distinguished career that includes her leadership as CEO of FremantleMedia China and her key role in the success of The Voice of China at Star China, Yin has long been at the forefront of international entertainment. She also created Sing My Song, China’s first original singing format that successfully traveled worldwide. Now, with Y+X, she brings her experience and global perspective to a next-generation company designed to transcend the boundaries of traditional media.

Y+X Entertainment Group is conceived as a 360° IP ecosystem structured around four core pillars: Studios, focused on long-form film and television; Drama, dedicated to high-quality short-form and micro-drama content; Live, which creates immersive real-world experiences; and Gaming & Interactive, aimed at extending narratives into the digital and gaming space. The company seeks to blend emotional resonance with cross-platform versatility, creating stories that evolve and connect with audiences on multiple levels.

“Entertainment has traditionally lived within the screen,” Yin said. “But today’s audiences are looking for stories that touch their lives in deeper, more immersive ways. With Y+X, I want to build bridges—between East and West, media formats, and ultimately between creativity and the human spirit.”

At the core of this vision lies the concept of the Lumiverse—a narrative universe of light, beauty, and imagination. Each project under the Y+X banner is envisioned not just as content, but as a meaningful experience. “We are dreamers and builders,” Yin explains. “Each project is a star. Each artist, a bearer of flame. We aim to be the architects of a Lumiverse—a universe of light and miracles.”

The name Y+X itself embodies the company’s ethos: ‘Y’ stands for Why—the purpose behind the story; the ‘+’ signifies collaboration and creative synergy; and ‘X’ represents the unknown—limitless creative possibilities. This formula, says Yin, reflects a belief in storytelling that is not only commercially viable but also emotionally and culturally meaningful.
