The nominations for the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards have been unveiled, setting the stage for one of the most competitive seasons in recent years. The ceremony, hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, will air live on CBS on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Bargatze himself received a nomination for his Netflix variety special Your Friend, Nate Bargatze. Leading the pack is Apple TV+’s Severance with a staggering 27 nominations, marking a triumphant return following its acclaimed second season. HBO Max’s The Penguin follows closely with 24 nods, while both The White Lotus (HBO Max) and The Studio (Apple TV+) garnered 23 nominations each. Notably, The Studio matches The Bear for the most nominations ever for a comedy series in a single year.
In a historic moment, Harrison Ford earned his first-ever Emmy nomination at age 83, recognized for his supporting role in Apple TV+’s sitcom Shrinking.
The nominations were announced by actors Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) and Brenda Song (Running Point), with some categories revealed exclusively on CBS Mornings.
