Pop Corn Festival del Corto 2025: Cinema, Culture and Creativity in Monte Argentario
The Pop Corn Festival del Corto returns for its 8th edition from July 25 to 27, 2025, in the stunning seaside town of Porto Santo Stefano on Monte Argentario (Tuscany). With free admission and an impressive lineup of films, guests, and awards, the festival reaffirms its role as a vibrant space for creativity and emerging talent in the short film landscape.

Kicking off with a preview screening on July 24, the festival will present Womeness, the latest documentary by actress and director Yvonne Sciò, celebrating the strength and elegance of women such as Dacia Maraini, Emma Bonino, and artist Tomaso Binga. Curated by Francesca Castriconi and organized by Associazione Argentario Art Day APS, the festival is supported by the Municipality of Monte Argentario and the Tuscany Region. Hosting duties will be entrusted to actor and presenter Andrea Dianetti, while a lineup of notable industry figures will enrich the program: director Massimiliano Bruno, music supervisor Anna Collabolletta, and an artistic jury chaired by writer and filmmaker Federico Moccia, alongside renowned editor Marco Spoletini, Cinecittà’s Manuela Pasqualetti, and industry experts from distribution, festivals, and film criticism.

This year, 18 short films compete in three categories: Italian Shorts, International Shorts, and Animation. Highlights include:
Domenica Sera by Matteo Tortone (David di Donatello 2025 winner)
Marcello by Maurizio Lombardi (Nastro d’Argento 2025 winner)
I’m Not A Robot by Victoria Warmerdam (Oscar 2025 winner)
Playing God by Matteo Burani (Nastro d’Argento for Best Animation)
The central theme, “Imprints – Traces of Life”, invites reflection on the visible and invisible marks left by human experience.

Among the awards, the festival introduces the Raffaella Carrà Prize (€4,000) for the most original idea, with the winning short also screened at Sudestival in Monopoli, partner of the event. Additional prizes include the Panalight Award (€8,000 in equipment rental), Mujeres nel Cinema Award, the Crew United Prize (membership and promotional tools), and the Inlusion Creative Hub Awards, offering professional post-production services.

A Popular Jury will also select the audience favorite, and special mentions will be assigned by Moscerine Film Festival and Vision 2030, the eco-sustainability film festival of Noto.
