MIPJUNIOR Unveils New Format and World Premiere for 2025
Just days after its official announcement, the upcoming edition of MIPJUNIOR (11-12 October 2025) is already generating excitement within the Kids entertainment industry. The world’s leading conference and networking market for children's content is set to introduce a completely revamped format and venue as part of a broader transformation strategy.

Maintaining its traditional slot ahead of MIPCOM CANNES (13-16 October), MIPJUNIOR 2025 will move into the Palais des Festivals for the first time, with the adjacent Gare Maritime newly designated as a dedicated matchmaking hub. The goal is clear: to foster impactful connections and business opportunities across the attention, creator, and experience-driven economies. "MIPJUNIOR is having a makeover with a mission," said Lucy Smith, Director of MIPCOM CANNES and MIPJUNIOR. "The Kids sector is leading the transformation of the media landscape. This year's event is fully designed to help companies adapt, innovate, and spark new partnerships that can meet young audiences wherever they are.” The headline event for this year's edition will be the world premiere of the highly anticipated anime comedy series Ki&Hi in the Panda Kingdom, scheduled for Saturday, 11 October at 16:00 in the Palais des Festivals.

Based on France’s all-time best-selling manga by YouTuber Kevin Tran, Ki&Hi in the Panda Kingdom is the first anime comedy series specifically created for children aged 6 to 10. The project has been developed by Mediawan Kids & Family’s Method Animation in collaboration with Drawsome Studios and Belvision. Kevin Tran, who has been actively sharing the series’ progress with his 5.6 million YouTube followers, serves as co-producer and showrunner. The 52 x 11-minute series, set to debut on Canal+ in fall 2025, follows the chaotic but heartfelt adventures of two endlessly bickering brothers, Ki (10) and Hi (6), in the whimsical Panda Kingdom. Beneath their constant rivalry lies an unbreakable family bond.

"Although anime is now a global phenomenon, very few series genuinely target younger children," said Julien Borde, President of Mediawan Kids & Family. "With Ki&Hi, we are offering the first authentic anime crafted specifically for a 6+ audience, delivering age-appropriate adventures that resonate with kids and their everyday experiences."
Lucy Smith added, "Ki&Hi perfectly embodies the intersection of creator-driven storytelling, publishing, and television. It’s a powerful example of what modern collaboration in the Kids space can achieve. We’re thrilled to present this world premiere to the international MIPJUNIOR community."

Under the theme ‘The Transformation Starts Here’, MIPJUNIOR 2025 promises a dynamic programme featuring leading voices, innovative business models, fresh content showcases, and valuable audience insights. Across two days, the event will host targeted round-table networking sessions that bring together producers, distributors, platforms, creators, toy companies, gaming partners, and investors.
This year’s expanded focus on the Creator Economy aligns with MIPCOM CANNES 2025, positioning MIPJUNIOR as a key launchpad for new partnerships between digital creators, traditional producers, distributors, and global brands.
MIPJUNIOR is expected to welcome around 900 delegates from over 60 countries, while MIPCOM CANNES, the world’s largest television and streaming content market, will draw more than 10,500 delegates from over 100 countries.

Further programme updates and registration details are available on the MIPJUNIOR website.
