After closing the best season in its history (October 2024 – June 2025), La7 raises the curtain on the 2025/2026 schedule, bolstered by steady, structural growth that has continued for 20 months. This performance spans all days of the week and all time slots, with figures certifying an unprecedented success: +16% in the morning, +23% in the afternoon, +8% in late night, and +11% on weekends.
The most significant achievement comes in prime time, where La7 reaches a 6.3% audience share and over 1.2 million average viewers, securing the network’s position as the third most-watched channel in Italy during the prime slot — the crown jewel of television.
“We are consolidating the work of the past few years. We pursued Augias for a long time, and he’s staying with us. La Torre di Babele and Gramellini are confirmed, with Gramellini continuing with us for the third year. Just as over the years we’ve confirmed every piece we’ve added, year after year, starting with Floris. After a season like this, it’s simply a matter of reconfirming,” said Urbano Cairo, President of the network and of the publishing company Cairo Communication.
Returning as key figures are Enrico Mentana at the helm of TgLa7, Lilli Gruber with Otto e Mezzo, Aldo Cazzullo with Una Giornata Particolare, Corrado Formigli with Piazzapulita, and Diego Bianchi with Propaganda Live.
Daytime programming also retains its winning structure, with Omnibus, Coffee Break, L’Aria che Tira, and Tagadà remaining at the heart of La7’s daytime news offering.
Starting next season, however, the schedule will be refreshed with several exciting new features:
Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri will step into the spotlight for four episodes with Lezioni di Mafie.
Roberto Saviano will also address the same theme in six special episodes of La Giusta Distanza.
Ezio Mauro will contribute two special prime-time documentaries: one on the life of Vladimir Putin and one on Pope Francis.
Actor Fabrizio Gifuni will present a special evening event in collaboration with Gherardo Colombo on the case of the P2 Masonic Lodge.
Gerardo Greco will join the Omnibus hosting team.
For now, the future of the network’s secondary channel La7d remains unclear. It appears to be undergoing a major transformation, but further details will be revealed later.
In closing, Urbano Cairo reiterated La7’s ongoing commitment to being a platform for free and independent journalism:
“Every one of our hosts has complete editorial freedom to invite whoever they want and to cover the topics they choose. For us, this has always been and must always remain a core value. This freedom is what gives us credibility with our audience — and for us, that’s the only thing that really matters,” he stated.
This editorial stance is also confirmed by the numbers: La7 ranks as the second national network in prime time among university graduates (14.9% share) and among viewers from the upper socio-economic class (13.1%), further proving the network’s ability to speak to a more discerning and informed audience.
