During the presentation, Nascimento took the audience on a journey through Globo’s rich history, emphasizing the vibrant colors and cultural diversity that have shaped Brazilian storytelling. Globo’s story began in 1925 with the launch of a newspaper. It then expanded into radio, before entering television in 1965 — marking the beginning of what would become one of the most influential media companies in Latin America and the world.
Today, Globo continues to evolve, not only as a leader in free-to-air and pay-TV broadcasting but also as a key player in the global streaming market. In fact, 2025 marks another important milestone: the 10th anniversary of Globoplay, Globo’s streaming service, which has been expanding its international presence and global content partnerships in recent years.
Nascimento underlined Globo’s ongoing mission, rooted in both joy and a profound sense of responsibility: “We feel great joy and a deep privilege in telling stories for the world. Our goal is simple but powerful: to bring happiness to people.”
The showcase at NEM Dubrovnik offered an opportunity to highlight Globo’s impressive content portfolio, its global ambitions, and its century-long commitment to delivering powerful stories that resonate across cultures and generations. Among the series mentioned: The Clone, Brazil Avenue.
A new big title is the telenovela (100x1h) Anything Goes, a reboot of a successful title, Vale Tudo (1988-1989).
Globo offers a rich catalog of telenovelas, scripted formats and entertainment - said Nascimento.
