Spain Named Country of Honour at MIPCOM CANNES 2024
MIPCOM CANNES has announced Spain as the Country of Honour for its 40th edition, set for 21-24 October 2024. This recognition highlights Spain’s growth as an international production hub and its quality content.

Spanish content has seen a significant rise in both scripted and non-scripted productions, gaining global viewership and international awards. The event will feature high-profile screenings, producer panels, and a Spanish-themed Opening Night Party.

The programme, curated by MIPCOM CANNES in partnership with ICEX Spain Trade & Investment, aims to promote Spanish audiovisual content globally. This initiative is part of the “Spain, Audiovisual Hub of Europe” plan, a €1.6 billion investment to boost audiovisual production by 30% by 2025.

Lucy Smith, Director of MIPCOM CANNES, emphasized Spain’s historical and recent impact on international television. Pablo Conde of ICEX highlighted the event's role in expanding international opportunities for Spanish producers. Spain’s Secretary of State for Telecommunications, María González Veracruz, noted that this spotlight will enhance the country's industry.

MIPCOM CANNES 2024 will host over 11,000 delegates from more than 100 countries, with events designed to celebrate and promote Spain's creative sector.
