Nordisk Film TV to produce a live event to honour Queen Margrethe II of Denmark
Nordisk Film TV, a Banijay company, announces its production of live show titled Denmark's Queen - The Biggest Thank You, a homage to the abdicating Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. A collaboration between major Danish broadcasters, DR and TV 2, the event will broadcast live on DR1 and TV 2 from Kongens Nytorv (King’s Square) in Copenhagen.

Following the unexpected announcement of Queen Margrethe II's abdication in her New Year's speech, the event will gather everyone from the Danish Commonwealth of the Realm, showcasing what the Queen has meant as a unifying beacon for the past 52 years. The show is set to feature a diverse array of musical, artistic, and surprising gifts from the people of Denmark and the Commonwealth of the Realm to Queen Margrethe II.

Ulrik Jørgensen CEO Nordisk Film TV Denmark says: “We are very proud to produce this spectacular show in the breath-taking backdrop of Kongens Nytorv. The abdication news took the entire nation off-guard, and it is safe to say we all wish to express our respect and appreciation for Her Majesty the Queen. With just 10 days’ pre-production, we’re pleased we’ve landed a remarkable line-up of big Danish, Greenlandic, and Faroese performers.”

Anticipated to be the largest event of its kind in Denmark, Denmark's Queen - The Biggest Thank You will be broadcast live on DR1 and TV 2.
