Fremantle hit drama Sullivan’s Crossing set to return for a second season
Fremantle, Reel World Management, and commissioning broadcaster CTV have announced that hit drama Sullivan’s Crossing will return for a second season, with The CW coming on board for the new series. Its production will commence this year in Nova Scotia, with Fremantle handling global distribution.

The news follows the breakout success of the first season earlier this year on CTV, when the series became the highest-rated Canadian drama launch in over two years, as well as the highest-rated Canadian drama launch on CTV in more than three years, and consistently ranked as the number one series in its time slot across key demographics. Sullivan’s Crossing season one will launch in the US on The CW this autumn.

Roma Roth, Executive Producer and Showrunner, said: “I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive team of executives and talented actors to help me accomplish my goal of creating a hit show, shot and set in Canada.”

Jens Richter, CEO Commercial & International, Fremantle, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the positive response to Sullivan’s Crossing and look forward to seeing the series grow from strength to strength. The valued partnership we have with Reel World Management and CTV coupled with the talent of Robyn Carr, Roma Roth and Christopher E. Perry has delivered a series that touches the heart of viewers, and we look forward to bringing the next season to audiences around the world.”

Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment, The CW, said: “We can’t wait to bring Sullivans Crossing to our viewers this fall, and we are so confident that audiences are going to fall in love with it that we have committed early to a second season. As partners for season two, we cannot wait to work alongside this talented cast and excellent creative team to deliver another emotionally captivating season. Audiences can give their hearts to this show knowing that it is coming back for much, much more.”

Sullivan’s Crossing is a series about healing, letting go, and ultimately opening yourself up to a world of new opportunities. In the first season, Maggie Sullivan’s life was thrown into turmoil when she was forced to leave her career in Boston and her boyfriend to take refuge in Sullivan’s Crossing, the Nova Scotia campground run by her estranged father. There, she tried to navigate her complicated present and painful past, while dealing with her feelings for Cal Jones, the mysterious stranger helping her father. All this while struggling to choose between a life in Boston and Sullivan’s Crossing.

Based on Robyn Carr’s novels, Sullivan’s Crossing stars Morgan Kohan, Chad Michael Murray, and Scott Patterson. Rounding out the cast are Tom Jackson, Andrea Menard, Lindura, Amalia Williamson, Reid Price, Allan Hawco, Lynda Boyd, Peter Outerbridge, and Lauren Hammersley.

From executive producers Roma Roth and Christopher E. Perry, Sullivan’s Crossing season 2 is executive produced by Reel World Management in association with CTV, The CW and Fremantle, with Roth acting as showrunner; Ann Bernier and Mark Gingras produce, with the participation of Canada Media Fund and the Bell Fund. Sullivan’s Crossing is distributed internationally by Fremantle.
