Filming has begun for RTVE series La Ley del Mar
RTVE and Valencian broadcaster À Punt are teaming up for their first major collaboration, La Ley del Mar (Tr. The Law of the Sea). Based on
true events, the three-part drama depicts the rescue mission of the Francisco y Catalina de Santa Pola the fishing boat which in 2006 rescued 51 immigrants adrift in the international waters of the Mediterranean. For nine long days, while tense negotiations took place between half of Europe, more than 60 people lived together on a
boat built for 10. Filming has begun, with the series set to air on À Punt in the Valencian region, and RTVE throughout the rest of Spain. The Valencia government has partly funded the series, in a bid to increase tourism in the region. Produced by Studio60 and MCFLY Prod, with the support of RTVE and À Punt.
