Leading the scripted offering are new legal drama Reputation, psychological thriller Maya and romantic drama Open Water, while the unscripted slate is headed by culinary competition 100 Knives and celebrity endurance format Last One Standing. The company is also bringing back BAFTA-winning factual brand One Born Every Minute.
For the first time, major global franchises including The Traitors, Survivor, Fear Factor and The Circle will sit within the same Banijay Entertainment portfolio, strengthening the group’s position as one of the largest international homes of established entertainment IP.
“MIPCOM 2026 marks a major milestone for Banijay Entertainment – our first distribution showcase as a combined group, and the first opportunity to unite the full force of our creative talent, standout catalogue and exceptional pipeline of new IP,” said Cathy Payne, CEO of Banijay Rights.
She added that the expanded offering is designed to cover “every genre, every screen and every platform”, combining English-language premium content with formats and catalogue brands capable of travelling internationally.
Premium Scripted Takes Centre Stage
Among the key English-language drama launches is Reputation, a new legal drama produced by The Forge Entertainment for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Also launching is Maya, a psychological thriller centred on a mother and daughter living under witness protection, produced by Two Brothers Pictures for Channel 4 and Starz.
Romantic drama Open Water, from Mam Tor Productions and B-Side Productions for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, joins the line-up alongside factual drama The Murder of Mr. Moonlight, produced by Conker Pictures and Samson Films in association with Screen Ireland for BBC One, BBC iPlayer and RTÉ.
The company will also continue to push returning drama brands including Rogue Heroes, A Remarkable Place to Die, A Woman of Substance, Bergerac, Midsomer Murders and The Assassin.
Beyond the English-language slate, Banijay is presenting a new version of acclaimed detective drama Wallander, produced by Jarowskij/Yellow Bird and Banijay Rights for TV4 and ARD Degeto.
Jarowskij/Yellow Bird’s psychological thriller Sarek for Prime Video will also be showcased, alongside crime drama Fallen from Filmlance for TV4 and ZDF.
From France come The Man Who Walked Through Walls, produced by Marathon Studio and Terence Films for France Télévisions, and Authentic Prod’s Cheers to Life! for TF1.
New Formats: From 100 Knives to Date Knight
On the unscripted side, Banijay Entertainment is putting particular emphasis on formats designed to travel quickly across markets.
High-pressure culinary reality competition 100 Knives, created by Mastiff Sweden and Bunim/Murray Productions for TV4, leads the new format slate and is already expanding internationally.
Another major launch is Last One Standing, a celebrity endurance competition co-developed by RTL Creative Unit and SimpelZodiak for Videoland.
Also on the slate is The Million Dollar Idea from Endemol Shine Germany for SAT.1, in which ordinary inventors are given the opportunity to transform their concepts into market-ready products.
Denmark contributes Date Knight, produced by Nordisk Film TV for DR P3, a dating format combining roleplay and romance as participants search for genuine connections.
According to James Townley, Chief Content Officer, Development, and Lucas Green, Chief Content Officer, Operations, the company is increasingly focused on creating IP capable of moving between traditional television, streaming platforms and creator-led environments.
One Born Every Minute Returns
Factual programming is another significant part of the MIPCOM line-up.
Dragonfly’s landmark maternity format One Born Every Minute returns for Channel 4, while Workerbee and City Studio are behind A Beautiful Obsession, offering behind-the-scenes access to Manchester City FC.
Sports docuseries Meet The Owens, from Whisper, is heading to Prime Video.
Lion TV will present science documentary Riddled with Plastic (w/t) for BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, as well as The Epstein Files (w/t) for Channel 4.
Streamers Remain a Key Growth Area
Banijay Entertainment is also highlighting its growing pipeline for international streaming platforms.
Upcoming Netflix titles include Workerbee’s Beat Luke Littler, Netflix, Will You Marry Me?, co-produced by Workerbee and Initial, Bunim/Murray Productions’ Simon Says and Studio Lambert’s Monopoly.
Returning Netflix scripted properties include House of Guinness from Kudos and Legends, co-produced by Tannadice Pictures and Lion Television.
For Hulu, Studio Lambert and Primal Media are behind The Mob, while Prime Video titles include Studio Lambert’s The Grand Tour, Workerbee’s The Crouches, Pokeepsie Film’s Drawn Together and the international LOL: Last One Laughing franchise, now produced by Banijay Entertainment labels across 11 territories.
Third-party distribution titles include strategic reality format Werewolves from STUDIOCANAL and Dreamspark, as well as TBS global superbrand Ninja Warrior.
Banijay Rights will meanwhile bring titles including Counsels from Balloon Entertainment for BBC and ZDF, Careless from Synchronicity Films and Easy Tiger for Stan and Channel 4, The Northumbria Mysteries from Lonesome Pine for the BBC and Monarch of the Glen from Ecosse Films for Channel 5 and PBS Masterpiece.
The catalogue also includes established drama brands such as All Creatures Great and Small, Black Snow, Maigret and Trigger Point.
Beyond Television
Banijay is increasingly expanding its IP beyond linear television and streaming into creator-led and digital-first ecosystems.
Recent initiatives include a collaboration between Banijay Americas, Banijay Rights and Phil Rosenthal supporting Somebody Feed Phil as the brand moves from Netflix to YouTube.
Little Dot continues to produce History Hit, while Workerbee has launched Jamie Vardy’s Having a Party, a vodcast project that subsequently led to a Bundesliga rights deal.
Elsewhere, Banijay Benelux has developed creator-led football team FCF, while the group continues to acquire digital-first formats including Stop the Train and Let’s Play Ball.
The strategy reflects Banijay Entertainment’s broader ambition to turn established and emerging IP into properties capable of operating across television, streaming, social platforms, live experiences and creator ecosystems.
At MIPCOM 2026, buyers will find the group at the newly named Banijay House at C20, alongside the Banijay Terrace at P3.C10, formerly the All3Media International stand.
