ITV has unveiled the trailer and first look images for Adultery, a new six-part drama created and written by BAFTA-winning writer Danny Brocklehurst, whose credits include Fool Me Once and Brassic. Produced by Poison Pen Studios, part of ITV Studios, for ITV and STV, the series will premiere in October on ITVX and STV Player.
The first-look images feature Dominic Cooper (Preacher, The Devil’s Double) and Romola Garai (One Life, Vigil) as Tom Kirkman and Beth Brookes, whose unexpected attraction develops into an intense affair with potentially devastating consequences for their families.

Their children, Tom’s 15-year-old daughter Jess (Leila Khan, Heartstopper, Crookhaven) and Beth’s son Ollie (Johnny Sanpher), are also falling for each other, unaware that their parents are embarking on a secret relationship. Meanwhile, Beth’s husband Neil (Matthew McNulty, Domina, Deadwater Fell) and Tom’s wife Hannah (Shelley Conn, Gen V, Bridgerton) remain unaware of what is happening, as the affair threatens to unravel both marriages.
The cast also includes Andrew Knott (Gavin & Stacey, Protection) as Dave, the ex-husband of Beth’s recently deceased best friend, alongside James Murray (The Crown, Masters of the Air) and Charley Webb (The Long Shadow, Better) as Tom’s brother Paul and sister-in-law Leah.

Set against themes of class, grief, social media and family, Adultery follows Tom and Beth as their passion begins to reshape the lives of two interconnected families. The drama draws a parallel between their affair and the all-consuming first love experienced by their teenage children. The series consists of six 60-minute episodes, with Will Sinclair directing Episodes 1–3 and Daniel O’Hara directing Episodes 4–6. Sarah Lewis serves as series producer. Adultery is produced in association with and will be distributed internationally by ITV Studios.
