Nippon TV is heading to MIPCOM 2026 with two new scripted formats that combine suspense, romance and complex character-driven storytelling: 25 Years of You (10x60') and Punch-Drunk Woman (Season 1: 10x60'; Season 2: 5x60'). Sayako Aoki, Head of International Sales, Content Business and Distribution at Nippon TV, said: "Both 25 Years of You and Punch-Drunk Woman deliver high-stakes suspense seamlessly blended with deep emotional romance. In these intense dramas driven by multi-layered character journeys, nothing is ever black and white. As shifting perspectives unfold, hidden truths emerge that constantly challenge what viewers believe, driving stronger audience engagement throughout the series. These two scripted formats offer global partners versatile, high-concept stories built for adaptation."

25 Years of You is a romantic thriller built around a secret bond spanning 25 years. After a kidnapping attempt in childhood changes their lives, an awkward outsider secretly dedicates himself to protecting the woman he has loved since they were young. When her former kidnapper reappears and corporate rivals begin disappearing, he is pulled into a dangerous situation while attracting the attention of a charismatic detective who regards him as a prime suspect. The series aired in primetime on Nippon TV, averaging 2.4 million views per episode on Japan's domestic AVOD platform TVer, based on Episodes 1–9. Episode 10 is excluded as it was recently released and has not completed its tracking period. The series is also currently streaming worldwide on Netflix.

Meanwhile, Punch-Drunk Woman follows a disciplined female prison officer whose carefully controlled life begins to unravel when a mysterious new inmate arrives. The inmate has been accused of murdering his wealthy father, but the officer soon discovers that the victim was her former lover, reopening a deeply buried trauma and drawing her into an increasingly dangerous relationship with the prisoner. Broadcast in primetime on Nippon TV, the first season averaged 1.4 million views per episode on TVer in Japan.

Alongside the two scripted formats, Nippon TV also announced three new unscripted formats developed by Gyokuro Studio for MIPCOM 2026.
