TBS and Fremantle’s challenge-based entertainment format Special Delivery has received the Gold Award in the Best Original Game Show Made in Asia category at the ContentAsia Awards 2026, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 27.
Co-developed by TBS and Fremantle, Special Delivery transforms the simple act of delivering a package into an unpredictable challenge. In the format, comedians report for duty at Delivery HQ, where they are assigned absurd parcels, impossible destinations and ridiculous delivery conditions. While contestants are expected to approach each assignment seriously, almost everything around them works against them. Each challenge is based on three basic elements: what has to be delivered, where it must go and how it needs to get there. The combination of these ingredients creates an unlimited range of unexpected missions, designed to generate mischief, comedy and highly visual, instantly shareable moments.
Commissioned for TBS in Japan, Special Delivery aired three times between January and February this year. Its debut episode ranked #1 in its time slot and achieved a 28% audience share. The Japanese version features celebrities, while the format can be adapted to accommodate different casting approaches in international markets.
Koichiro Yanagisawa, Producer at TBS, said “We are truly honored to receive this prestigious award. It is a great privilege to see Special Delivery, which we created together with our wonderful partner Fremantle while thoughtfully embracing the differences between our countries and cultures, receive such recognition. We will take this award as an inspiration to continue creating content that resonates with audiences around the world.”
The Gold Award adds momentum to Special Delivery’s international rollout. The format was first presented to international buyers at the London TV Screenings in February this year. Following its ContentAsia Awards win, TBS and Fremantle will continue exploring opportunities to bring the format to audiences worldwide. The companies will also showcase Special Delivery to broadcasters, streaming platforms, producers and other potential partners at MIPCOM, taking place in Cannes, France, this October.
