One year after the death of legendary Italian TV host Pippo Baudo, Rai will pay tribute to one of the most influential figures in the history of Italian television with two special programmes airing on Sunday, August 16.
The evening will begin at 8:00pm on Rai 3 with SuperPippo, a special edition produced by Blob retracing some of the most memorable moments from Baudo’s extraordinary 60-year television career. The programme will bring together archive footage featuring major stars who shared the stage with him, including Raffaella Carrà, Massimo Troisi, Roberto Benigni and Mina.
Later, at 9:30pm on Rai 1, the broadcaster will air Stasera… Pippo Baudo, a prime-time celebration dedicated to the presenter, revisiting his iconic shows, unforgettable interviews and some of the defining moments of Italian entertainment.
Baudo, who died on August 16, 2025, remains closely associated with Rai and with programmes that shaped several generations of Italian television viewers.
