Produced by Emmy-winning Northern Pictures, the hour-long series combines spectacular natural history filmmaking, scientific research and human stories to explore the rapidly changing ecosystems of the Arctic and Antarctica.
The three episodes — The Frozen Heart (Sept. 16), Polar Seas (Sept. 23) and The Incubator of Life (Sept. 30) — follow scientists working across glaciers, polar oceans and extreme frozen environments. The series examines climate change, rising oceans, shrinking sea ice and the extraordinary forms of life able to survive in some of the planet’s harshest conditions.
Ages of Ice is produced by Northern Pictures in association with ABC, ITV Studios and PBS, with production funding from Screen Australia and financing in association with Screen NSW. ITV Studios handles international distribution.The series will air nationally on PBS and stream simultaneously across PBS digital platforms.
