Mediaset’s hit game show La Ruota della Fortuna will celebrate presenter Gerry Scotti’s 70th birthday with a special episode airing on Friday, August 7.
The entire instalment will be dedicated to the veteran host, with the phrases featured on the show’s puzzle boards revisiting the most important moments of his life and his extraordinary television career.
Three former champions from some of the most memorable quiz shows hosted by Scotti will compete behind the iconic Wheel: Ferdinando Sallustio from Passaparola, Enrico Remigio from Chi vuol essere milionario?, the Italian adaptation of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and Nicolò Scalfi from Caduta Libera, based on the international format Still Standing.
The special event will feature anecdotes, memories, curiosities and surprises celebrating one of the most popular personalities on Italian television. Scotti has been a regular presence in Italian households for 43 years, becoming one of the country’s most recognisable entertainment hosts.
Samira Lui will also appear in the episode, alongside the show’s resident band, the Fortuna Five.
The celebration comes during a particularly successful period for Scotti, who is currently fronting one of the biggest game-show hits of the Italian television season.
La Ruota della Fortuna is produced by RTI in collaboration with Endemol Shine Italy. The programme is based on the format Wheel of Fortune produced in the United States by Sony Pictures Television and licensed by Sony Pictures Television.
