Nippon TV has announced that its heartwarming docu-reality format Meet Me There has been renewed for a second season in Singapore, with CNA, Mediacorp’s English-language news and current affairs brand, once again producing the local adaptation. The new season will premiere on August 10, ahead of a special three-day event on August 15, 16 and 17, when all episodes will air on CNA and be available on YouTube. Released to coincide with Singapore’s 61st National Day celebrations, Season 2 features a lineup of some of the country’s most recognizable personalities.
Among the participants are Mediacorp stars Zoe Tay and Aileen Tan, the first-ever Singapore Idol winner Taufik Batisah, acclaimed chef and MasterChef Singapore judge Bjorn Shen, along with other well-known Singaporean figures.
The renewal follows the strong performance of the first season, which debuted on March 21, 2026. Across linear television and digital platforms, including CNA Insider’s YouTube channel, the series reached 365,800 viewers aged 15+ in Singapore, with an average audience of 199,900 viewers per episode.
Originally created by Nippon TV, Meet Me There is an emotional unscripted format that begins with a handwritten note containing only three words: “Meet me there.” With no additional clues, the recipient must discover the mystery location where the sender is waiting, retracing meaningful places from their shared past along the way. For the second season, CNA has introduced a new visual countdown timer that tracks the final minutes of an eight-hour search, adding extra suspense as participants race to reunite with loved ones.
Commenting on the renewal, Raku Iizuka, Sales and Licensing at Nippon TV, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with CNA for a second consecutive season of Meet Me There. Following the incredible reception of Season 1 in Singapore, this new season raises the stakes with an exceptionally high-profile, iconic cast. Combined with the exciting new twists and visual tracking elements, the emotional journey is more compelling than ever. It is a true pleasure to continue this journey together, and I look forward to touching the hearts of even more viewers this National Day month.”
