TVF International Unveils 70-hour Factual Slate at Sunny Side of the Doc
TVF International has unveiled a 70-hour slate of premium factual programming at Sunny Side of the Doc in La Rochelle, featuring documentaries and series spanning current affairs, history, science, health, wildlife and food. Leading the distributor's summer lineup is The Bondi Terror Attack: One Year On (1x90 / 1x60), produced by Mint Pictures for SBS. Scheduled ahead of the first anniversary of the December 2025 tragedy, the documentary combines exclusive eyewitness testimony and archive footage to examine the attack, its security implications and the wider rise in social tensions, antisemitism, Islamophobia and neo-Nazism.
Marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, TVF is also launching Windows on the World: 9/11's Forgotten Victims (1x47), produced by Make Waves Media for CNA. The documentary tells the stories of Asian migrant workers employed at the iconic restaurant atop New York's North Tower. The current affairs lineup also includes Why US Allies Are De-Risking from America (1x47), joining the When Titans Clash strand, alongside ICE Nation (1x58 / 2 x 47), an investigation into U.S. immigration enforcement from Mediacorp’s Walk the Line.

The history slate features Written in Stone: St Francis and his Pilgrims (1x54), produced for RTI Mediaset, exploring newly discovered graffiti inside the Basilica of St. Francis to coincide with the 800th anniversary of the saint's death. Also joining the lineup are Storyline Entertainment’s The Theft (1x59 / 1x84), examining the ownership dispute surrounding the 12th-century Ghanzi marbles, and Chiang Kai-Shek: Shadow Across the Taiwan Strait (1 x 47), from Mediacorp, which revisits the legacy of the former Chinese leader.
In health and lifestyle, the slate includes PBS NOVA documentary The Battle to Breathe (1x52), produced by Wingspan, chronicling breakthroughs in cystic fibrosis treatment. CNA’s Good Death Innovators: AI Beyond the Grave explores the growing use of artificial intelligence in grief support, while YLE’s A Comedian’s Guide to Happiness (6x43) follows a comedian's journey across Finland to investigate why the country consistently ranks among the world's happiest.

Science and environmental programming is led by The Peace Particle (1x59 / 1x90), commissioned by S4C and ARTE, charting the history and impact of the Hadron Collider. Wildlife titles include The Keepers of the Pigs (1x70) and The Route to Cappyness (1x52 / 1x70), focusing on guinea pigs and capybaras respectively. The food lineup expands with Pow Wow Chow (26x23), produced for APTN and exploring Indigenous culinary traditions across North America, alongside a second season of the BBC’s Flaming Feasts (6x30), hosted by a BAFTA-winning chef celebrating Welsh cuisine.

Poppy McAlister, Managing Director of TVF, said: “I’m delighted to announce the launch of our superb Summer Slate, featuring such a diverse range of premium titles from The Bondi Terror Attack to The Peace Particle. With La Rochelle basking in the heat this week, it feels like the perfect time to unveil a slate that’s just as hot as the weather!”
