France tv distribution has launched international sales for Ducks, the new feature film from Neary Adeline Hay, during this year’s Festival de Cannes. Produced by Special Touch Studios and Katuh Studio, the film stars Mellina Boubetra and Visal Sour. The screenplay was written by Hay and Romy Coccia Di Ferro.
Ducks follows Kerya, a successful Paris-based DJ of Cambodian origin who travels to Cambodia for the first time after the death of her father. While there to scatter his ashes, she unexpectedly becomes responsible for her uncle’s flock of 300 ducks and embarks on a journey across the country alongside her young cousin Samnang.
Julia Schulte, SVP International Sales at France tv distribution, said: “We have been very moved by this heart-warming and uplifting story, crossing the frontiers from Europe to Cambodia, with our main hero Kerya who’s journey brings her from grief to the discovery of her Asian heritage, and the country’s culture. The film is emotionally and visually outstanding, as Kerya travels through the beautiful Cambodian landscapes, followed by three hundred ducks she has to keep care of.”
