Talpa Studios’ The House of Hide & Seek lands first international adaptation in Spain
Talpa Studios has secured the first international adaptation of its new family entertainment format The House of Hide & Seek, with Spanish public broadcaster RTVE commissioning a local version ahead of the show’s debut in the Netherlands on May 9. Inspired by the classic children’s game, the format reimagines hide and seek as a large-scale studio entertainment competition, with contestants hiding, hunting and strategising inside a specially designed two-storey house packed with more than 120 hiding places.

The Spanish adaptation will be produced by RTVE in collaboration with Warner Bros. ITVP Spain and Talpa Studios, with filming set to take place in the Netherlands. A launch date for the Spanish version has not yet been announced. The format was created and developed by Talpa Studios, David Grifhorst and FOX Entertainment Studios.

Sebastian van Barneveld, Director Global Distribution at Talpa Studios, said: “We’re incredibly happy to see The House of Hide & Seek land its first commission before even hitting the airwaves, and to do so with RTVE - a partner we’ve built a strong track record with over the years. The format combines a universally loved game with an ambitious studio setup, making it instantly accessible while delivering real scale and excitement. With FOX Entertainment Studios and David Grifhorst as creative partners, this project truly reflects the power of international collaboration.”

The RTVE deal extends the existing relationship between the Spanish broadcaster and Talpa Studios following previous adaptations of The Floor and Trivial Pursuit.
