Production is officially underway on Super Santos, the highly anticipated debut feature film by director Ciro Visco. The project marks a significant milestone for the filmmaker, who steps behind the camera for his first feature after establishing himself in the Italian audiovisual landscape.
Freely inspired by Roberto Saviano’s novel Cuore puro, Super Santos explores themes of youth, identity, and the complex moral landscape of contemporary society. While not a direct adaptation, the film draws from the emotional and social undercurrents of Saviano’s work, reinterpreting them through a new narrative lens.
At the heart of the story are four friends—bound by a deep connection and a shared passion—that navigate the challenges of growing up in an environment where choices often come with profound consequences. Their intertwined journeys reflect different paths, aspirations, and struggles, offering a multifaceted portrait of friendship and destiny.
The film is produced by Palomar, a Mediawan company known for its high-quality productions in both film and television, in collaboration with PiperFilm.
