No Good Men to Open 76th Berlinale as Wim Wenders Presides Over Main Jury
The 76th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival will open on February 12 at the Berlinale Palast with the world premiere of “No Good Men”, directed by Shahrbanoo Sadat. According to the report of Mansour Jahani, an independent and international cinema journalist, on February 12, the start of the 76th Berlin International Film Festival will be celebrated at the Berlinale Palast. Festival Director Tricia Tuttle and Jury President Wim Wenders will kick off the Berlinale with a festive opening.

During the Opening Gala, the International Jury will be introduced and the Honorary Golden Bear will be awarded to Michelle Yeoh, one of the most versatile and influential actors of her generation. Academy Award winner Sean Baker (Anora) will deliver the laudatory speech. The evening will be hosted by Désirée Nosbusch.

Yeoh, whose career spans more than four decades, previously served on the Berlinale International Jury in 1999. She has appeared in landmark titles including “Crouching Tiger”, “Hidden Dragon” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, consolidating her status as one of the most influential performers of her generation.
International Co-Production

“No Good Men” was produced as an international co-production between Germany, France, Norway, Denmark and Afghanistan, with production companies Adomeit Film, La Fabrica Nocturna Cinéma, Motlys, Amerikafilm and Wolf Pictures attached.

The Main Competition Jury will be chaired by Wim Wenders and includes: Min Bahadur Bham (Nepal); Bae Doona (South Korea); Shivendra Singh Dungarpur (India); Reinaldo Marcus Green (USA); HIKARI (Japan); and Ewa Puszczyńska (Poland).

The jury will award the Golden Bear for Best Film (to the producers), Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize, Silver Bear Jury Prize, Silver Bear for Best Director, Best Leading Performance, Best Supporting Performance, Best Screenplay and Outstanding Artistic Contribution.

Talks and Programme Sections
Among this year’s highlights are two special talks featuring Berlinale award guests, including a conversation between Sean Baker and Michelle Yeoh. The festival will also host the world premiere of “Sandiwara”, a short film directed by Sean Baker and starring Michelle Yeoh, created within the Self-Portrait Residency.
The 76th Berlinale runs from February 12 to 22, 2026, featuring sections including Main Competition, Perspectives, Generation, Panorama, Forum, Shorts and Documentary, alongside Special Screenings and Classics.
