TVF International Closes Record Factual Deals Across Iberia
TVF International has announced a series of record-breaking deals across Iberia, with major broadcasters and platforms in Spain and Portugal acquiring a wide-ranging slate of premium factual programming.

Among the key agreements, TVF International licensed Like a Shot Entertainment’s WWII series "24 Hours That Changed the World" (2 x 47) to WBD’s DMAX Spain. Commissioned by Channel 4 and SBS, the series chronicles the 24 hours leading up to the surrenders of Germany and Japan during World War II, combining newly colourised archive footage with dramatic reconstructions. Also from Like a Shot Entertainment, "Escape from Chernobyl: 48 Hours That Changed the World" (1 x 47) was licensed to Movistar Plus+, timed ahead of the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in April.

Movistar Plus+ acquired a broader package of premium history titles from TVF International, including archive-led series "1979: Year of the Islamist Revolution" (2 x 50), "Free at Last: Secrets of Apartheid" (3 x 52) from ZDF/Arte, "How the Second World War Became a Global War" (1 x 52) from Odyssey Television, and "Theodor Herzl: The Man Behind Israel" (1 x 60), hosted by David Baddiel and featuring the voice of Sir Stephen Fry.

In science, the Spanish pay TV platform also picked up CBC-commissioned documentaries "The Ozempic Effect: Beyond the Waistline" (1 x 54), an in-depth investigation into the new wonder drug, and "Fluid: Life Beyond the Binary,".  Movistar Plus+ further acquired France TV’s premium archaeology documentary "Ulysses: From Myth to Science" (1 x 60), which traces Homer’s journey in The Odyssey to uncover the truth behind the legend.

AMC Networks International Southern Europe focused on travel and true crime content, licensing titles including Channel 4’s "Great British Train Journeys from Above" (4 x 47), RTÉ’s "Europe by Train" (4 x 52), as well as true crime specials "The Bowraville Murders" from Mint Pictures and "The Trials of Kyle Rittenhouse" from LawNewz Inc.

In Catalonia, CCMA acquired a selection of world affairs documentaries for TV3, including award-winning titles "Walk the Line: Escaping From China to the USA" (1 x 58) and "My Dad the Sex Tourist" (1 x 49). Additional current affairs sales included "Arming the Arctic" (1 x 50), licensed by TVI/CNN, and Mediacorp’s "Silent Soldiers: Russia's Foreign Mercenaries" (1 x 48) for CNA.

Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE licensed the TVF International and Tokyovision co-production Japan’s "Wild Side" (2 x 52). Wildlife also proved strong in Portugal, with RTP acquiring the blue-chip series "China's Wild Secrets" (5 x 45), alongside "Traps & Ambushes" (2 x 49) and science-led series "The Resurrection Quest" (4 x 47). RTP also selected a range of investigative and world affairs documentaries, including "How to Poison a Planet" (1 x 78), "Addicted: Inside the Global Drugs Trade" (3 x 47), "My AI Relationship" (1 x 54), and "Wombless: India's Hysterectomy Crisis" (2 x 47).
