 The first edition of Paris Unscripted (Sofitel Hotel, 28-30 April, 2025) brought together France’s leading independent producers for a vibrant three-day showcase of creativity, format innovation, and international ambition. Held in the heart of the French capital, the event served as a platform for fresh concepts, returning hits, and exciting global rollouts that reflect the strength and diversity of the French unscripted industry.

On the first day of the event, Mediawan took the spotlight with a showcase held in their stunning auditorium. The group presented Hit the Mic, a talent show in search of the next big sports commentator. The presentation also featured successful returning titles, from Vintage Mechanic, now in its fourth season, to the new spin-off of The Parisian Agency, building on the popularity of L’Agence.One of the most intriguing highlights was the unveiling of The Heir of Montecristo, a mystery reality format inspired by the global success of the period drama The Count of Monte Cristo.

Independent distributor Can’t Stop Media showcased the undeniable success of The A Talks, recently launched in the UK on ITV1 under the title The Assembly. Mathieu Porte also introduced a slate of new shows, including The Big Idea Works, Market Vendors, The House Share (known in France as La Coloc on Canal+), and the bold German docu-series Exotic Sex.

Moe Bennani of SparksDreams offered further insight into That's My Chair, created in partnership with Mediawan, a reality format that offers a creative twist on the classic game of musical chairs turned into an adventure competition. while also highlighting the continued success of The Power on M6 and Les Loups-Garous. on Canal +.  He emphasized the pivotal role of the AI Academy in developing innovative IP and shaping the future of format creatio


M6 made a strong impression with The Brain, a top-performing reality competition aired on W9. The show challenges reality stars to prove their mental prowess in logic, memory, deduction, and trivia, while also betting on the intelligence of fellow contestants. With two hit seasons in France and format sales in 12 countries, The Brain stands out as one of the most promising formats on the international stage.

The broadcaster also introduced two fresh titles: Cougar Island, a dating show with a twist where mature women first date younger men—only to find themselves later paired with suitors their own age—and Shopping Masters, a lifestyle quiz show focused on real-life consumer knowledge.

Satisfaction Group continues its reign in the dating genre with The Villa of Broken Hearts, Battle of the Couples, and Moms and Famous, all standout titles on TF1. Their hit game show 1 to 10 – How Well Do You Know? returned for a second season, while new formats like Divide, a provocative dating show and, and The Best Folk Dance, a vibrant talent contest, added cultural flair to their offering.Comedy was also in the spotlight with The Tourists, a beloved hybrid show that sends comedians into unfamiliar roles and environments with hilarious results.

Keshet International impressed with Domination, a brand-new game show centered on psychological strategy and power dynamics, which was recently commissioned in Germany. Their dating format Singletown continues to travel well, and Dear Neighbors was successfully adapted by Hallmark in the U.S.
The company also debuted Dinner With..., an intimate unscripted format where celebrities cook and share personal stories, and confirmed the international success of The Search — an interactive word-hunt game now airing in Spain, where contestants uncover hidden words on a giant LED floor.

Rabbit Films brought several original formats from across Europe and beyond, including Masters of Everyday Life, a German celebrity quiz focused on daily knowledge; City vs Country, a light-hearted rural vs urban competition; and Ultimate Escape, a rebooted adventure format set in wild, cinematic landscapes.

New Zealand titles like The Unusual Report and Most Endangered Species blended satire and exploration, while Vintage Mechanic offered nostalgia-fueled factual storytelling.
