Sunny Side of the Doc, the global marketplace for documentaries, announces the departure of Mathieu Béjot, who will take on a new role at the French Embassy in India. Béjot has served as Director of Strategy and Development at Doc Services since January 2020.

Béjot joined Sunny Side of the Doc following the death of co-founder Yves Jeanneau in 2019, brought in by Roman Jeanneau to maintain the market's standards. His tenure ends this summer with a smooth transition to the new Managing Director, Aurélie Reman, appointed in April 2024.

Reman praised Béjot for revitalizing the market and expanding its reach, including the creation of the Global Pitch and diversifying programming. Béjot expressed gratitude for the support from the documentary community and confidence in Reman's leadership.

Sunny Side of the Doc is also establishing an Advisory Committee to guide its future development. The 35th edition of the event, held from June 24-27, 2024, in La Rochelle, saw participation from 2,100 attendees from 68 countries, with 1,000 companies, 90 exhibitors, and 250 international decision-makers.
